During the February 2011 earthquake, Riccarton House suffered extensive, but repairable, damage to the interior and exterior of the house and surrounding buildings. A $2 million restoration project was undertaken over 2 years, and Plaster Works was thrilled to be part of the restoration team. Plaster Works were contracted to repair and re-plaster the internal walls and ceilings of the historic house, combining modern earthquake strengthening techniques with traditional sand, lime and horse hair plaster. This was applied over existing and new lath substrates. read more

Damaged during the February 2011 earthquake, the historic Curator's House was closed and repairs and strengthening work were undertaken. Repairs have included the installation of new foundations and installation of concrete columns into the walls to strengthen the building. Plaster Works was privileged to be part of the rebuild team and was responsible for re-plastering the original internal stone and brick walls with traditional sand and lime plasters, after earthquake strengthening. read more

During the refurbishment of Durham Hall at St Bede's College, Plaster Works was contracted to repair and refurbish the exterior decorative plaster areas of the brick building, and reseal all plaster and brick work to preserve it for the future. The project was delivered professionally and efficiently within the tight time frame. read more

Wanting to create a 'wow' factor and with a culture of "nothing less than exceptional design will do", The Buchan Group employed Plaster Works to create a bespoke concrete finish with their name stenciled into the wall. The outcome exceeded the clients expectations and the work is of a high quality. read more
